Viking presents new, versatile hybrid shoe models featuring PFC-free waterproof membranes

The Norwegian brand Viking Outdoor Footwear announces its latest trail and walking hybrid collection, Stride. And true to their namesake, each model is designed to lighten and embolden each stride through a combination of innovative features and materials.

For example, all models are equipped with waterproof, PFC-free membranes to protect against wet conditions. Here, models marked with GTX use the latest PFC-free GORE-TEX membrane, while those marked with WP use Viking’s own Watershield membrane.

New tooling below, meanwhile, uses a beveled heel to smooth the initial heel strike, that which then combines with the increased toe spring at the front to create an ideal rolling gait with each step. This is complemented with a high traction, zonal rubber outsole that aims towards striking the balance between speed and agility in changing terrain.

Each model is available in both low and mid-cut to meet individual support preferences. They also conceal their considerable performance and comfort features in an overall sleek, minimalistic appearance, which should appeal for everyday urban use in addition to on and off-trail exlorations.
