Nikwax was founded in 1977 and has grown to become the global leader in PFAS-free aftercare and waterproofing solutions, helping outdoor footwear, clothing, and equipment last longer and perform at its best.
From the beginning we took a different path, we’re the only aftercare company to have never used aerosols or fluorocarbons, and we’ve fully balanced our historical operational carbon emissions. Our entire range is water-based and every bottle and lid is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic.
Alongside our aftercare range, Nikwax has also developed a factory-applied, high-performance, PFAS-free Durable Water Repellent (DWR) for synthetic outdoor fabrics and down, offering brands a sustainable alternative without compromising performance.
Nikwax has received multiple awards for its sustainable innovations, including the Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development, an honour held by only a select few businesses placing people and planet first.
